Building on a collaborative momentum from the
Everything Turns Blue visualizer with Chelsea Wolfe and Ben Chisholm, EFFIXX was invited to design an immersive visual world for Wolfe’s main-stage performance at Roadburn 2024 in Tilburg.
Roadburn is more than a festival—it’s a cult pilgrimage for underground heavy and experimental music, where boundary-defying artists meet high-production staging in service of atmosphere and ritual
. Returning to this crucible, Chelsea presented her album
She Reaches Out to She Reaches Out to She, an introspective, transformative work exploring the past, present, and future selves as interconnected guides of rebirth.
Themes of cyclical healing, shedding toxic ties, and stepping into a new self informed our visual design—dense plumes, layered lighting motifs, dissonant yet melodic motion, sculpted to echo the album’s trance-doom textures
. We built a live environment that honored Chelsea’s voice as both beacon and conduit, grounding the ethereal in physical, cinematic tension.
